HelpCare is run by a small team of staff and interns. Our staff oversee volunteers and clinic operations.
Staff

Lisa Guthrie, RN
Executive Director
Lisa earned her Business Certification, from McCook Community College. She also earned her Certified Nursing Assistant, Medication Aide, Licensed Practical Nurse licensure, and eventually Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) from Colby Community College (Colby, Kan.). Lisa just completed Primary Care Program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Katie Salinas, APRN
Nurse Practioner
Katie is a provider on staff at HelpCare. She is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and sees patients during our daytime clinics. Katie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), from University of Oklahoma, and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Julie Keaschall, APRN
Nurse Practitioner
Julie is a provider on staff at HelpCare. She is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), and sees patients during our daytime clinics. Julie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Rhonda Sherman, RN
Medical Office Assistant
Rhonda has volunteered at HelpCare since 2020. Rhonda earned her Registered Nurse Diploma in 1998, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2007. Rhonda served at Ground Zero in New York City during the 9/11 attack.

Maria Gonzalez
Medical Receptionist
Maria has volunteered at HelpCare since 2021. Maria is a sophomore at UNK and is a double major in Social Work and Psychology with a minor in Behavioral and Mental Health. Maria finds it rewarding to help others in the community.
